Hi, I'm Matt Shillabeer and look after the triathlon side of the club and I am also the current club chair, so welcome to ABC. I started duathlon and triathlon in January 2006 after 16 years of playing rugby union. I soon joined ashurst and now coach, train and race for the club including duathlons, sprint and standard triathlons, aquathlons and many local cycle time trials. 2011 was a bit of a come back year for me, but the club still managed 2nd place in the club championships. There was continued action in the World Duathlon Champs, by ABC members and a few North West titles and trophies in several age groups completed the year. The club membership continues to grow, especially with our females at all levels of experience and our junior section is thriving. Racing in 2011 was back on for me with a full standard distance duathlon programme and triathlon through the summer months. For my sins I also look after the club kit , so I carry out all liaison with our kit suppliers, take the orders and deliver to members I competed for Team GB in the World Duathlon Age Group Champs in 2011 in Gijon in Spain along with two other members of the club. I won my age group at the North West Standard Distance Champs and also raced at both British University Standard and Sprint Distance Champs this year as I am now back studying. I am now also a British Triathlon Level 2 Coach. follow the links below:-
